Chamber of Commerce Selects EMR as one of the 2009 Top 10 Small Businesses

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce has selected its Top 10 Small Businesses of the Year for 2009. The businesses will be honored at several events over the next few weeks and will compete for the 2009 Small Business of the Year and the “Mr. K Award.” Upon hearing this news, EMR’s CEO, Connie Cook, stated, “We at EMR are extremely grateful, deeply honored, and so very proud to have been recognized by the Chamber in this special way. It makes us appreciate even more the hard work we have done over the years to build EMR and it recognizes and reaffirms our core values.”

A number of special events are planned for the Top 10, including the following:

The Chamber’s Top 10 Business After Hours event will provide an opportunity for Chamber members and officials to meet the employees and chief executive officers from the selected firms. The event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., April 16 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center Hotel, at 2345 McGee St., Kansas City, MO.

Executives from each selected firm will speak at the Chamber’s Top 10 Breakfast at 7:30 a.m., May 7, in the Kansas City Marriott Downtown, 200 W. 12th St., Kansas City, MO.

The 2009 Small Business Celebration Awards Luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m., May 20 in the Hyatt Regency.

Finally, on May 20, one of the selected businesses will be named 2009 Small Business of the Year and take home the Mr. K Award, named for Ewing Kauffman.
