About Natural and Cultural Resources
EMR provides a full scope of ecological, historical, archaeological and cultural services for NEPA, FERC and other programs. Our Natural and Cultural Resource specialists serve as facilitators for agency consultation and permitting efforts, including consultation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, US Environmental Protection Agency, National Marine Fisheries Service, Minerals Management Service, State Historic Preservation Offices, state/local natural resource agencies, and local historic preservation agencies. Being a Native American owned firm, EMR understands Tribal consultation efforts and has the ability to provide Tribal Liaisons for any type of project.
EMR’s Natural and Cultural Resource specialists will help ensure each project meets regulatory compliance during construction. EMR provides a variety of environmental inspection services including construction and industrial storm water compliance, wetlands compliance, pipeline Environmental Inspectors, biological monitors, and cultural resource monitors. We also offer corrective action services for non-compliance situations and comprehensive GIS program development and management including mapping, geospatial analysis (both 2D and 3D), and modeling for facilities, infrastructure, natural resources, cultural resources and socioeconomic features.
Natural Resources - Wetland delineation and mapping, biological surveys, migratory bird and raptor surveys, forest ecological planning, GIS applications, threatened and endangered species habitat evaluation, toxicological assessment and watershed analysis.
Cultural Resources - Artifact identification, cultural resource surveys, cultural resource evaluation and mitigation, State Historic Preservation Office inquiries, historic structure record development, industrial archaeology and Native cultural liaison.
Permitting and Planning - Coastal permitting; FERC 2.55, Automatic Blanket, Prior Notice and 7(c); GIS data applications, NEPA EIS and EA; NEPA review; SWPPP development and NPDES permitting; urban planning and wetland permitting.
Construction Compliance - Environmental Inspectors, Chief Inspectors, Third Party and Inspectors/Monitors.
